Patrick Phillips is in his fifth season as an assistant coach with the Huntingdon men's varsity basketball team and head coach of the Hawks' junior varsity team.
Prior to joining the Hawks, Phillips spent three seasons with the Troy University men's basketball program, two as a player and one year as the Trojans' team manager. During his tenure with the Trojans, Phillips appeared in 10 games averaging 1.2 points and 0.9 rebounds per game.
Phillips joined the Trojans after spending the previous two seasons at Gadsden State Community College, where he helped the Cardinals to a 44-25 record. As a sophomore at GSCC, Phillips was a second-team all-region performer, averaging 10 points, six rebounds and two assists.
During his prep career, Phillips played for three seasons at Meek High School. He averaged 28 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and six steals as a senior, with a career-high 52 points coming against Mount Hope.
For his accomplishments, he was named first-team all-state and all-area during his final season. In his three seasons with the Tigers, Phillips helped the squad to a 48-37 overall record. He is a recent inductee into the Winston County Sports Hall of Fame.
Phillips is married to the former Aubren Smith, a former Troy volleyball standout.
