Weekend forecast alters athletic schedule

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The weather forecast for the next few days is forcing adjustments to the Huntingdon athletic schedule.

Baseball, softball, and men's and women's tennis have each made schedule changes. The schedules for men's and women's lacrosse and men's and women's golf remain unchanged.

Below is a breakdown of schedule changes by sport.



The Hawks were originally schedule to host Piedmont on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The two teams will now try to play a single game on Saturday at 5 p.m., a single game on Sunday at 3 p.m. and a single game on Monday at noon.

Should the weather not permit a game on Saturday, the two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday with Game 1 set for 1 p.m. The final game of the series will be played on Monday at noon.



Saturday's doubleheader with Ferrum has been moved to Monday. Game 1 is set for 10 a.m. Sunday's doubleheader with Mary Baldwin is still scheduled to begin at noon.


Men's and women's tennis

Saturday's men's and women's matches with Ferrum have been moved to 10 a.m. on Monday. Sunday's women's match with Mary Baldwin is unchanged.

The Lady Hawks have canceled their match with LeTourneau on Friday.


Men's and women's lacrosse

There have been no changes to the men's and women's lacrosse schedules this weekend.

The women's lacrosse team will host Ferrum at 9 a.m. on Saturday and will host Greensboro at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. The men's lacrosse team will host Berry at 2 p.m. on Saturday and will host Benedictine at 7 p.m. on Monday.


Men's and women's golf

The men's and women's golf teams are still scheduled to compete at Jekyll Island on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
