MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon designated hitter Anthony Spivey was recognized this week by D3baseball.com for his performance in Saturday's 5-4 and 12-5 sweep of Covenant.
Spivey was one of 13 players recognized on D3baseball.com's national Team of the Week.
Spivey, who was also named the USA South Player of the Week, was 5-for-8 (.625 batting average) with a home run, five RBIs and two runs scored in the two games and finished with a 1.125 slugging percentage. He was 4-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs in the second game.
His three-run home run in Game 2 was his seventh home run of the season. For the season, the Phenix City native is third in the USA South in home runs and second in RBIs.
Entering Tuesday's game at Covenant, Spivey led Huntingdon with a .372 batting average and a .613 slugging percentage, was second on the team with 51 hits and fourth with 28 runs scored.
