2014 Huntingdon Awards Banquet
MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The Huntingdon College athletic department recently held its annual Awards Banquet to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes that helped make this another successful year.

This year's winners are:

Male Student-Athlete of the Year: Austin Hill, Basketball

Female Student-Athlete of the Year: Brooke Meadows, Softball

Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Brandon Sewell, Lacrosse

Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Saem Hur, Golf


Male Newcomer of the Year: Will Pharis, Baseball

Female Newcomer of the Year: LeeAnn Cahoon, Golf


Megan Cook Sportsmanship Award: Jenna Rimensnyder, Softball

John McWilliams Sportsmanship Award: Ryne Taylor, Football


Coach of the Year: Charlie Lane, Men's Tennis


Male Single-Game Performance of the Year: Jason Varney's 36-point performance in basketball's 92-87 win over LaGrange. 


Female Single-Game Performance of the Year: Brooke Meadows' one-hitter and 11 strikeouts in softball's 1-0 win over Birmingham-Southern.


Play of the Year: Taylor Hughes' game-winning touchdown pass to Darius Dawsey with 1:12 to play in football's 45-38 win over Maryville.


Biggest Win of the Year: Men's basketball's 91-84 overtime win against Birmingham-Southern.
