Moorer, Hill and Varney lead Hawks in loss to AUM

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon seniors Terry Moorer, Austin Hill and Jason Varney combined for 62 points, but it wasn't enough in an 89-73 loss to AUM.

AUM led the entire game, but Huntingdon matched the NAIA Warhawks for most of the first half and remained within striking distance until late in the second half.

AUM led 39-34 at the half and only led by seven points, 61-54, with 10:09 to play in the game. But the Warhawks scored 28 points in the final 10 minutes to pull away.

Moorer led Huntingdon with 23 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots. Hill followed with 22 points and seven rebounds and Varney added 17 points.

Brett Person led AUM (3-5) with 21 points, 11 rebounds and four steals and Spencer Jones added 21 points, six assists and four steals. Quay Davis finished with 15 points, seven assists and four steals and LeShaun Murphy had 10 points, five assists, five rebounds and three steals.

Huntingdon (0-5) returns to action at Birmingham-Southern on Dec. 16.
