Hawks can’t find an answer for Division II UNA

FLORENCE, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team fell to the University of North Alabama 87-61 on Saturday.

The Hawks (0-6) led early and held their own for much of the first half before the Division II Lions pulled away. Huntingdon trailed by just five points, 24-19, with a little more than seven minutes to play in the opening half.

During the next four minutes, UNA used a 16-3 run to take a 40-22 lead. The Lions (5-2) built a 21-point lead, 48-27, at halftime and led by at least 15 points for the final 24 minutes of the game.

Andre Ashley led Huntingdon with 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots. Wyatt Popovich added 10 points and KK Franklin finished with nine points.

Huntingdon returns to action at Belhaven on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
