Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Carey enjoyed a successful playing career with the Pride. He was a four-year letter-winning attack-man and finished fifth all time in goals scored for his career.

Also during the summer of 2010, he was a head coach and actively involved in the Triad Blackhawks Lacrosse Club. Carey has been on staff the last three summers for the Duke University Lacrosse Camps and often attends many other camps up and down the East Coast. Carey has also worked actively for the last five years in the Triad Youth Lacrosse Associate to help grow youth Lacrosse in the Greensboro/Triad area.

A native of Salisbury, Md., Carey earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Greensboro College in 2007.

"I am very appreciative of President West, Coach Phillips, and the Huntingdon administration for allowing me this opportunity," Carey said. "Given the year-round warm weather, the beautiful campus, the caliber of the Huntingdon academic program, the College's placement rates, and the growing popularity of lacrosse in the South, I am confident that we can recruit a strong team of men who will come to Huntingdon not only from the Southeast, but also from the Northeast and East Coast regions, where lacrosse is particularly popular."
