MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon College athletic department held its annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday night to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes that helped make this another successful year.
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Three Huntingdon women’s tennis players and one men’s tennis player were recognized with the release of the USA South Athletic Conference All-Conference Awards on Thursday.
Junior Josie Waddell was named first-team All-Conference and first-team All-West Division and teammates Zoya Robinson and Heather Tabor were both named second-team All-West Division. On the men’s side, sophomore Adam Self was named honorable mention West Division.
DEMOREST, Ga. -- The Huntingdon men’s tennis team played two matches on the road on Friday. The Hawks won 8-1 at Tuskegee University on Friday afternoon before losing 9-0 in a conference match at Piedmont on Friday night.
LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- The Huntingdon men’s tennis team fell to Covenant College 8-1 on Friday. The Scots are ranked 20th in the Atlantic South Region.
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Huntingdon men’s tennis team lost to Luther College and Loras College on Monday on the first day of the Spring Break Tournament.
The Hawks fell to Luther College 9-0 before losing to Loras College 5-4.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men’s tennis team defeated Berea College 9-0 and 8-1 in a pair of conference matches on Saturday.
The second match was to make up a postponed match from earlier in the season.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Sophomore Adam Self won a three-set match at No. 3 singles to help the Huntingdon men’s tennis team clinch its first win of the season with a 5-4 victory over Brevard on Saturday.
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Huntingdon men’s and women’s tennis teams are each ranked third in the West Division with the release of the USA South preseason polls on Thursday.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon College will induct five new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame this weekend. The ceremony will be held in the Leo J. Drum Theater at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The five inductees represent six sports and four different decades of Huntingdon athletics. This year’s inductees are David G. Myrick (basketball and tennis, Class of 1967), Bill Hamilton (baseball, Class of 1982), Kent Hagan (cross country and tennis, Class of 2011), Caitlin McMahon Hagan (cross country, Class of 2012) and John Sadie (golf coach in the 1990s).
