Lady Hawks bounce back against LeTourneau

JACKSON, Miss. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team closed out the Millsaps Thanksgiving Classic with a 70-58 win over LeTourneau University on Sunday.

Senior Juliette Harp powered the Lady Hawks with her fifth double-double of the season. Harp led all scorers with 27 points and pulled down a game-high 19 rebounds to go with four blocks and three assists. In five games this season, Harp is averaging 18.4 points, 15.8 rebounds and three blocks per game.

Huntingdon and LeTourneau battled to a 36-36 tie at halftime before the Lady Hawks opened the second half with a 13-3 run to take control of the game. Mia Hudson and Destinee Washington helped spark the run, combining for 11 of Huntingdon's 13 points.

Leading 54-46 at the end of three quarters, Huntingdon all but put the game away in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter. Behind eight straight points from Harp, the Lady Hawks pulled ahead to a 62-46 lead a little more than two minutes into the final quarter.

Huntingdon maintained at least a nine point lead to close out the game.

Washington finished with 11 points for Huntingdon. T.I. Duncan led Huntingdon with six assists, was second with six rebounds and also had seven points and two blocks. Hudson added nine points and Hannah Parks had eight points.

Quick Facts: Harp's double-double was the 34th of her collegiate career and her 13th straight dating to last season … Huntingdon held LeTourneau to just seven field goals in the second half. The Yellow Jackets hit 7-of-39 field goals in the second half and 20-of-72 field goals for the game.
