Lady Hawks sweep Brevard and Albany State

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team earned a pair of wins on Saturday.                            

The Lady Hawks closed out conference play with a 7-2 win over Brevard before knocking off Division II Albany State 9-0.

The wins highlighted a Senior Day that recognized four seniors. Of the four seniors (Josie Waddell, Heather Tabor, Zoya Robinson and Kacy Howard), three are four-year players who are ranked in the program's top-10 for career wins during the NCAA era.

During the NCAA era, Waddell is third with 112 career wins, Tabor is sixth with 93 career wins and Robinson is 10th with 78 career wins.

Howard and Tabor each won four matches on Saturday. Howard won at No. 3 singles in both matches and teamed with Tabor to win at No. 2 doubles in each match. Tabor won at No. 4 singles in each match.

Robinson won both of her singles matches, winning at No. 2 singles against Brevard and No. 1 against Albany State. Robinson teamed with Waddell for a win at No. 1 doubles against Albany State.

In addition to Robinson, Howard and Tabor, Lucy Burch (No. 5) and Kacey Stephens (No. 6) earned singles wins against Brevard and Waddell (No. 2), Clayton Waring (No. 5) and Alex Burnham (No. 6) picked up singles wins against Albany State.

Waring and Burnham won at No. 3 doubles against Brevard and Burch and Stephens won at No. 3 doubles against Albany State.
