Peppers selected as USA South Defensive Rookie of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – One Huntingdon student-athlete was recognized by the USA South Athletic Conference as an Athlete of the Week on Monday. Freshman linebacker Casey Peppers was named Defensive Rookie of the Week for football. This is the second straight week a Huntingdon defensive player has earned recognition and the first time this season the football team has produced a Defensive Rookie of the Week.

DeFleron and Tyma earn USA South Athlete of the Week honors

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Two Huntingdon student-athletes were recognized by the USA South Athletic Conference as Athletes of the Week on Monday. Junior defensive back Peyton DeFleron was named Defensive Player of the Week for football and junior Amy Tyma was named Player of the Week for volleyball.

Huntingdon beats Averett to remain unbeaten in USA South

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon football team faced its toughest conference test of the season but emerged with a 41-35 win over Averett University on Saturday. Both teams entered the game unbeaten in conference play and the outcome wasn’t decided until the final minutes. Huntingdon defensive backs Peyton DeFleron and Fred Flavors helped seal the victory with two interceptions in the final three minutes of the game.

Flavors named Special Teams Player of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon’s Fred Flavors was recognized as one of the USA South Athletic Conference’s Athletes of the Week on Monday. The sophomore was named Special Teams Player of the Week for football for his performance in the Hawks’ 48-7 win over Methodist.

Defense leads the way for Hawks in Homecoming victory

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon football team opened conference play and celebrated Homecoming with a 48-7 win over Methodist University on Saturday. The Hawks overcame two weather delays to build a 28-0 lead at halftime and extended the lead to 41 points before the Monarchs scored early in the fourth quarter.
