Track And Field Opens The Berry Field Day Invitational

MOUNT BERRY, Ga.- Following their solid performances at the Doc Anderson Multi and Invitational hosted by Troy University, Huntingdon Track and Field kicked off their final regular season meet at Berry College.

The men's team put four points on the board to place themselves 11th out of 14 teams through the opening eleven events. All four of those points came by way of Rory Gilroy's fifth place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.37 seconds. Asides from Gilroy, there were a plethora of personal and season bests, most notably Dalan Bunn's 4:23.68 personal record in the 1500m, establishing a new school record. Marcus Malone also established a new school record of his own in the triple jump, finishing in 12th place with a mark of 12.30 meters.

The women's team didn't generate any points through the opening events, but still quality performances across the board. Trinity Treadway led things off with a mark of 21.41 meters in the hammer throw before Mya Farmer finished with a time of 1:27.47 in the 400m hurdles. Kate Smith narrowly defeated Michaela Moore in the 1500m with a season-best time of 5:23.02, with Moore finishing in 5:26.18. Evie Garrett and Sydney Thompson rounded out the 1500m crew to finish the day for the Hawks.

Huntingdon returns to the track tomorrow, April 12th, with the 4x100M relay kicking off the second day of action.
