Justin Allison Joins Men's Basketball Staff

MONTGOMERY, Ala – West Alabama graduate, Justin Allison is set to serve as the assistant coach for Huntingdon Men's Basketball.

A 2023 graduate from the University of West Alabama, Allison was a four-year player for the Division II Tigers after beginning his collegiate career at Spring Hill. He says he is "I am very excited for the opportunity to be the assistant coach at Huntingdon. I can tell this place is special and has a lot to offer. I have known Coach Richards for 12 years and know what he requires. He has had great success playing and coaching at the collegiate level. I am very grateful and excited to get to work with our team!"

Serving as a team captain for three years, he led West Alabama to two Gulf South Regular Season Championships and one GSC Tournament Championship in 2023. He averaged 13.5 points per game and led his team in made three pointers with 71 this past season. His efforts earned him two GSC All-Tournament Team awards and a Most Outstanding Player award in the 2023 tournament.

He was a three-time member of the Gulf South Conference Academic Honor Roll, a member of the GSC All-Academic Team, and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Zac Richards on his new assistant, "I am thrilled to have Justin Allison join the staff. He just finished up an excellent playing career at the Division II level where he is coming off back-to-back conference championship seasons along with becoming a 1,000 point scorer and named the tournament MVP. His knowledge of the game and expertise in guard skill development will be instrumental to our success. He is a proven winner with a competitive fire that is rarely matched. Most importantly, he is a man of high character and I could not be happier to have him with me at Huntingdon. Hawk'Em!"
