Hawks Taken Down By Berry In Season Opener

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Kicking off their 2025 campaign by hosting their annual "Beach Bash" tournament, Huntingdon beach volleyball was defeated by the Vikings of Berry College 4 sets to 1 in their opening match. The Hawks lone victory came from the #2 pair of Ashlen Janowski and Izzy Valldeperas. See below for the comprehensive results of the match.

• Veronica Tikhomirova and Ariel Helmick were defeated by Kaylee Howell and Becky Blaydes 21-17 and 21-19
• Ashlen Janowski and Izzy Valldeperas defeated Keira Kruk and Sabine Rudolph 21-16 and 21-17
• Eva Ellenburg and Jessi Hilyer were defeated by Kara Schmit and Madie Whitehead 21-18 in each set
• Jenna Dupee and Lily VanDyke were defeated by Grace Mau and Kat Kelyman 21-18 and 21-16
• Carryne Chancey and Lydia Hitchcock were defeated by Lilly Teagle and Andrea Hurt in three sets, losing the first 21-18, winning the second 21-16, and dropping the third 15-12
• Morgan Suggs and Luci Hoffman were defeated by Ailee England and Lura Underwood in three sets, dropping the first 21-11, winning the second 21-19, but falling in the third 15-9

The Hawks look to bounce back tomorrow, February 21st, against Nicholls State for their second matchup of the Beach Bash. Matches are set to begin at 12:00 PM CT.
