Beach Volleyball Falls to Mobile Before Sweeping LaGrange

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Looking to build off of their 3-1 weekend against the likes of Southern Virginia and Wesleyan, Huntingdon Beach Volleyball returned to the Alice Reynolds Beach Courts for matchups with the University of Mobile Rams and LaGrange.

The Hawks fell to Mobile 4-1 to open the day, but answered with a 5-0 sweep over the Panthers. See below for the full flight-by-flight breakdown of each match.

Match One v. Mobile

• Veronica Tikhomirova and Ariel Helmick defeated Dazsha Dean and Lexi Gillette in three sets, falling in the first 21-18 and recovering for a 23-21 second set win before claiming victory in the third, 15-13
• Izzy Valldeperas and Ashlen Janowski were defeated by Aspen and Layton Adams in three sets, winning the first 21-13 before dropping the next two 21-18 and 15-13
• Emma Hampton and Gabby Sheffield defeated Eva Ellenburg and Jessi Hilyer 21-10 and 21-15
• Emily Osborne and Emma Todd defeated Morgan Suggs and Carryne Chancey 21-18 in each set
• Jaci Prinnon and Rachel Dunnaway defeated Lydia Hitchcock and Lily VanDyke 21-14 and 21-3

Match Two v. LaGrange

• Veronica Tikhomirova and Ariel Helmick defeated Zentrina Choice and Meredith Ortiz 21-12 and 21-8
• Izzy Valldeperas and Ashlen Janowski defeated Katlyn Gilcrest and Jula Dano 21-16 in each set
• Eva Ellenburg and Jessi Hilyer defeated Claire Titus and Bella Zentzcovicit 21-13 and 21-9
• Carryne Chancey and Morgan Suggs defeated Madeline Bellington and Mamie Martenstein 21-7 and 21-11
• Lydia Hitchcock and Lily VanDyke defeated Emma Campbell and Rebecca Moranda 21-16 and 21-12
