Hawks Fall to Division I Nicholls State Before Knocking Off ETBU
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Kicking off their second home tournament of the season with a rainy double-header this afternoon, Huntingdon Beach Volleyball was defeated by Division I Nicholls State 4-1 before rounding out the day with a 3-2 win over the Tigers of East Texas Baptist University. Match One v. Nicholls State
- Morgan Suggs and Kinsley Martin were defeated by Hailey Mason and Ana Valentin via forfeit after a 24-22 first set victory
- Molly Wilson and Carryne Chancey defeated Tierney Terrell and Addi Prine 21-19 and 21-12
- Destin Roberts and Jenna Dupee were defeated by Ariana Matalana and Madison Smith 21-12 and 21-10
- Cheyenne Ashworth and Brielle Smith were defeated by Carly Long and Raegan Erickson 21-15 and 21-10
- A'Kirra McElveen and Gracie Wallace were defeated by Claire Reed and Isabel Padilla in three sets, winning the first 21-19 before losing the next two 21-13 and 15-10
- Lauren Mason/Jayna Wilson and Mileah Prince/Hannah Rutherford were defeated by Brooklyn Wilkinson and Lizzie Kraft 21-16 and 21-12
Match Two v. ETBU
- Morgan Suggs and Kinsley Martin defeated Paige Dickson and Ceci Jalufka 21-18 and 21-17
- Molly Wilson and Carryne Chancey were defeated by Bella Fields and Bostin Morin in three sets, winning the first 21-18 before falling in the next two 21-13 and 15-9
- Jenna Dupee and Destin Roberts defeated Katie Holloway and Caiden Lasala in three sets, winning the first 21-14, losing the next 21-10, but rebounding for a 17-15 set three victory
- A'Kirra McElveen and Cheyenne Ashworth defeated Caitlyn Ellenburg and Emily Thomas in three sets, winning the first 24-22, dropping the second 21=18, but recovering for a 15-12 set three win
- Brielle Smith and Gracie Wallace were defeated by Luci Guardia and Kk Domek 21-10 and 21-14
- Hannah Rutherford/Sara Cochran and Mileah Prince/Carlee Cooper defeated Breanna Pope and London Whelchel 21-10 and 21-12
The Hawks round out their home stint tomorrow, March 7th, with another pair of matches against these opponents. Matches are set to begin at 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM CT.
