JACKSON, Miss. – The Huntingdon baseball team carried a lead into the sixth inning on Monday but lost to Millsaps 11-6.
Huntingdon looked strong early, scoring five runs in the top of the first inning on a two-run single by Will Cosby and a three-run home run by Joseph Calvert. The Hawks held Millsaps to one hit and two runs in the first five innings and led 5-2 in the sixth inning.
The Majors took the lead in the bottom of the sixth with six runs on seven hits. Millsaps added a run in the seventh inning and two runs in the eighth inning.
Calvert and Cosby both finished 2-for-4. Calvert had three RBIs and a run and Cosby had two RBIs and a run. Taylor Fought was 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run. Garrett Headley, Wes Powell and Bradley Harris each scored one run.
Starting pitcher Blake Mayes (1-2) took the loss in five innings of work.

Quick Fact: Monday's meeting was the third of the season for the Hawks and Majors. Millsaps is riding a six game winning streak since opening the season with a pair of losses to Huntingdon at Posey Field.
