Baseball Sweeps #17 Belhaven On Senior Day To Clinch Conference Series
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Closing out their series with the #17 ranked Belhaven University Blazers at home today in a double-header, the Huntingdon Hawks brought the Senior Day magic to sweep their CCS opponent, claiming the conference series by scores of 11-4 and 10-5.
Prior to the start of today's action, Huntingdon recognized the program's 12 seniors for their committments to the program, both off and on the field. This year' seniors are:

Game One
After four scoreless frames, the Hawks erupted for six runs in the fifth, sending 11 batters to the plate and stringing together a series of clutch at-bats. RBI hits from Dalton Ash, Drew Jolley, Jay Davidson, and Dalton Kuhn highlighted the inning, while Brodie Holcomb also drove in a run to give Huntingdon a commanding 6-0 lead.
The Hawks continued to apply pressure late, plating five more runs in the eighth. Blayne McDaniel delivered an RBI single before Huntingdon capitalized on multiple wild pitches and patient at-bats to stretch the advantage to 11-2.
Offensively, Huntingdon racked up 12 hits and seven walks, with Ash, Holcomb, Jolley, and Brent Cadenhead each recording multi-hit games. Jolley and Kuhn paced the effort with two RBIs apiece.
On the mound, Ben Mosely earned the win with four innings of relief, while the staff combined to limit Belhaven to four runs on seven hits. Despite a late push from the Blazers, the Hawks maintained control throughout to secure the 11-4 victory.
Game Two
The Hawks struck early, manufacturing runs in the second and third before breaking things open in the fourth. RBI hits from Brent Cadenhead and Ty Pruitt highlighted a three-run frame that pushed the lead to 5-0. Huntingdon continued to add on in the sixth, with Sam Kelley and Jabez Sampson delivering run-scoring singles to extend the advantage to 7-0.
Belhaven mounted its biggest threat in the seventh, stringing together five runs to cut the deficit to two. Huntingdon answered immediately, as Brodie Holcomb crushed a three-run home run in the bottom half of the inning to halt the momentum and stretch the lead back to 10-5.
Offensively, the Hawks totaled 10 hits and drew eight walks, with Sampson leading the way with a four-hit performance. Holcomb drove in three runs, while Pruitt added two RBIs in a balanced attack.
On the mound, Jacob McFarling set the tone with six strong innings, striking out eight to earn the win. The bullpen settled in after the seventh-inning surge, combining to shut out Belhaven the rest of the way and secure the 10-5 victory, completing the sweep.
The Hawks close out the regular season with a series at #14 Piedmont, beginning on April 23rd. First pitch is set for 5:00 PM CT.
