Fred Lawson Named USA South Defensive Rookie Of The Week

MONTGOMERY,Ala.- Following Huntingdon's 51-0 victory over Southern Virginia University this past week, the USA South has recognized freshman defensive lineman Fred Lawson as the conference's Defensive Rookie of the Week.

The Montgomery, Alabama native not only helped the Hawks post a 51-0 shutout of USA South foe Southern Virginia last week but he scored a touchdown on an 85-yard fumble return. Lawson totaled four tackles, one of which was a sack resulting in a loss of five yards.

Lawson and the Hawks return to Charles Lee Field this Saturday, November 16th, for Senior Day against Greensboro. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM CT.
