Covington And Turner Headline Huntingdon Football All-Conference Selections
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2024 All-Conference awards for football. All awards have been determined by a vote of the head coaches in the league.
Huntingdon was represented by five Hawks, with Brody Covington and Noah Turner receiving all-conference first team honors, Ben Barker and Robert Vickers receiving second-team honors, and Bailey Huston being named to the conference's all-sportsmanship team.
The first Huntingdon H-back to receive All-Conference honors since Zac Self in 2021, Brody Covington led the Hawks in receptions(31) and touchdowns(7) on the season. The Rogersville, Alabama native proved to be a force in the redzone, establishing himself as one of the conference's most dependable players in crucial circumstances.
As for Noah Turner, the offensive guard from Wedowee, Alabama has been one of the integral pieces of the Hawks offensive attack for the last three seasons, with this being his first all-conference selection.
Ben Barker, from Wetumpka, Alabama, joined Turner in anchoring the Huntingdon offensive line. A team captain this past season, Barker's leadership throughout the season proved to be a constant in anchoring the Hawks' line of scrimmage.
Huntingdon's final all-conference selection, Robert Vickers followed-up on his first-team selection from last season with another excellent campaign. The Headland, Alabama native tallied 25 tackles on the season, including 2.5 sacks for loss.
From Navarre, Florida, Bailey Huston served as team captain for the Hawks this season, and his steadfast leadership and dedication to the program resulted in a deserving nomination to the conference's all-sportsmanship team.
