McReynolds Selected To D3football.com Third Team All-Region
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The 21st annual D3football.com All-Region Teams have been announced.
Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools, and schools and conferences were contacted multiple times as the season wound down to remind them to make their players eligible. In total, 1,062 players were nominated.
All-Region teams are selected in balloting by sports information directors in each region and D3football.com staff. All players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for the D3football.com All-America Team.
Serving as Huntingdon's lone selection in Region 3 is none other than USA South Special Teams Player of the Year and first team all-conference honoree, Tim McReynolds of Geneva, Alabama. During the regular season, McReynolds returned three kicks for a touchdown, two punts and one kickoff. He averaged a League-best 22.2 yards-per-punt return to go along with a 23.9 yards-per-kickoff return mark. Against USA South foes, McReynolds had the longest kickoff return, an 86-yard effort against Southern Virgina. He averaged a Conference-best 23.1 yards-per-punt return with one touchdown. For his efforts this fall, McReynolds earned First Team All-Conference honors at return specialist while also being named Special Teams Player of the Week three times. He is the first Huntingdon's first all-region special teams honoree since Fred Flavors selection in the 2021 season.
