Mark McCaleb Named Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Huntingdon Head Men's Basketball Coach has announced the hiring of Mark McCaleb to serve as the program's assistant coach.
Coach McCaleb comes to Huntingdon following a three year stint as an assistant coach on Chris Graves' staff at Birmingham-Southern. While at Birmingham-Southern, McCaleb assisted with teams that saw an overall record of 31-22, including an appearance in the SAA semifinals in 2023.
Before his time at Birmingham-Southern, Coach McCaleb spent over 20 years coaching at the high school level within the state of Alabama, including head coaching roles at Homewood, Gardendale, Minor, Pinson Valley, and Mountain Brook. Throughout his coaching career, McCaleb has been recognized as the Alabama Sports Writers 6a Boys Coach of the Year, the Birmingham Tip Off Club Alabama Coach of the Year, the Jefferson County Coach of the year four times, and led Minor to a 6a state championship in 1998.
Mark holds a Masters degree in physical education with a Health Concentration Class A Certification.
