DIII Week Student Spotlight- Donovan Wilson
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Up next in our DIII-week student spotlights is Huntingdon Men's Basketball's very own, Donovan Wilson.
Coming to Montgomery from Daphne, Alabama, this Taco-Tuesday fanatic was in search of an close-knit college community, which he found at Huntingdon. "Everyone is like family," shared Wilson. "The small campus environment is definitely what appealed to me the most."
Asides from being a point guard on the Hawks Basketball team, the Sports Management major is involved in multiple different ways on campus, serving as an orientation leader for incoming students and a member of the Black Student Union. A key member of Huntingdon's historic run to the NCAA tournament this past season, Donovan's favorite memory as a Division III student-athlete comes as part of the run, when the Hawks defeated the Maryville Scots on their home court to claim the Collegiate Conference of the South title for the first time in program history.
Led by head coach Zac Richards, Huntingdon Men's Basketball also often serves the community through their "Let's read with Coach Z' initiative that promotes local elementary schools to achieve their reading goals. Lending itself to his service-oriented mentality, Donovan became a frequent participant of the community outreach program.
