Townsend Named Alabama Power Huntingdon Student Athlete Of The Week

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- After securing his fourth double-double of the season in Huntingdon's 96-90 loss at Covenant on Saturday, Marcus Townsend has been deemed the Alabama Power Huntingdon Student Athlete of the Week. 

A senior guard from Montgomery Alabama, Townsend led the Hawks in all aspects of the game this past week, putting up a career-high of 37 points on 54% shooting from the field and 83% from beyond the arc. He tallied on 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal to fill the stat sheet in the loss. 

Marcus has been a steady force for the Hawks all season, averaging 12.4 points per game to go along with 8.5 boards, good enough to lead the conference in that regard.  He'll look to keep rolling tonight as the Hawks host Belhaven University in a crucial conference matchup. Tip-off is set for 6:00 PM CT.
