Hawks Fall In CCS Semi-Final To Belhaven

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Entering tonight's contest as the #2 seed in the Collegiate Conference of the South tournament, Huntingdon Men's Basketball was defeated by the tournament's #3 seed, Belhaven University, 85-73.

The Hawks placed three starters in double figures, led by Marcus Townsend's 18 points and nine rebounds. Myles Murphy matched him with 18 points and added seven boards and three assists, while Owen LaRocca delivered one of the night's top performances, knocking down six three-pointers and finishing with 18 points on an efficient 6-of-9 shooting effort.

Huntingdon showed strength on the offensive glass with 19 offensive rebounds, including four each from Townsend and Andersen Madyun, creating second-chance opportunities throughout the night. The Hawks also shot 84.6 percent from the free-throw line (11-of-13) and dished out 11 assists as a team.

However, Huntingdon struggled to find consistent rhythm from the floor, shooting 34.7 percent overall, and was unable to overcome the deficit down the stretch.

With tonight's loss, the Hawks' season has come to an end. Stay tuned for news to come of their 2026-2027 season.
