Second-ranked Huntingdon ties for 3rd in Gordin Collegiate Classic
DELAWARE, Ohio – The Huntingdon men's golf team climbed one spot on the final day of the Gordin Collegiate Classic and tied for third.
The second-ranked Hawks shot 6-over-par 290 in the final round to finish with a three-round total of 882.
Huntingdon tied with fourth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan. Top-ranked University of Texas-Tyler won the 12-team tournament with a 16-over 868. Eleventh-ranked Greensboro was second with a 26-over 878.
Senior Jon Colten Stanaland and junior Stephen Shephard led the Hawks in the final round. Stanaland shot a 1-under 70 on Monday and Shephard shot a 1-over 72.
Shephard finished six strokes off the lead and tied for 10th with a 4-over 217. Texas-Tyler's George Toone was the medalist with a 2-under 211.
