Viator's Record-Tying Performance Catapults The Hawks From 11th To 6th At NCAA Tournament

LAS VEGAS, Nev.- Entering the third day of the NCAA tournament, Huntingdon men's golf found themselves sitting in 11th place on the leaderboard, making the back-half of the top 18 cut to qualify for the third and fourth rounds.

Sophomore Brett Viator, of Pace, Florida, has sporadically found himself traveling with the Hawks, but qualified for the fourth spot to compete in the national tournament. After leading the team for the last two rounds, he broke out in the third round, shooting a score of 64, eight strokes under par, to move from a tie for 20th overall to a tie for 1st. He led the Hawks to a team score of 276, five shots under par. and tying the NCAA record for the lowest round, which had been set just two days prior in round 1. Just behind him was freshman Cole Humphrey, who bounced back from two rounds of shooting over par to scoring 67(-5) to boost the Hawks from 11th to 6th entering the final round.
