Hawks Tie For Third At Capitol City Invitational
PRATTVILLE, Ala.- With the second round bringing a close to their home tournament, Huntingdon Men's Golf has finished in a tie for third place overall with Gettysburg College.
After leading through the end of round one, the Hawks closed round two with a team score of 294, six strokes over par and ten over their first round score. Washington & Lee ran away from the field of 18 teams in the second round, shooting a fourteen-under par 274 today to claim the tournament title.
Huntingdon's top finisher was Jack Burr, who tied for fifth place individually. Matching his two-under par 70 from the first round with an identical score today, he narrowly defeated Stephen Baker, who finished 9th overall and second for the Hawks.
Huntingdon's "B" team climbed two spots on the leaderboard to finish 13th overall with a second round score of 295, seven strokes over par. Tyler Bjorgum's performance today headlined the Hawks upward movement, following is seven-over par 79 yesterday with a two-under par 70 as he individually climbed 27 spots up the leaderboard.
