Humphrey Catches Fire As #1 Men's Golf Ties For 1st After Round One At Jekyll Island
JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.- Aiming to repeat as champions as the annual Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational, #1 Huntingdon Men's Golf certainly got off to a hot start in today's first round, closing things out in a tie for 1st place with Sewanee.
Ending the round with a 17 stroke-under par 271, the Hawks remain deadlocked with the University of the South Tigers, but hold a 8 stroke lead over the rest of the 27 teams in the field. While three other Hawks finished with under-par scores for the round(Stephen Baker, Myles Cunningham, and Jack Burr), junior Cole Humphrey led the way through the first round, boasting a nine-under par 63 to sit atop the individual leaderboards.
