Sage Speer Named CCS Rookie Of The Week

ATLANTA, Ga.- The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its baseball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.

Freshman Sage Speer of Huntingdon's men's tennis program has been titled the league's rookie of the week for the first time in his career.

Speer delivered key wins at No. 6 singles for the Hawks, picking up victories against Truett McConnell and Indiana Wesleyan. His win against Indiana Wesleyan provided Huntingdon's lone point of the match, while his performance against Truett McConnell played a crucial role in a tightly contested 4-3 loss.

Speer and the Hawks look to pick up their first conference victory of the season on Sunday, March 16th as they host LaGrange College. Matches are set to begin at 1:00 PM CT.
