Hawks Close Regular Season With Loss At MUW
COLUMBUS, Miss.- In their final regular season match of the regular season, Huntingdon Men's Tennis hit the road to face off with the Mississippi University for Women Owls. The Hawks were taken down 4-3, making that the team's second loss in as many days. See below for the full doubles and singles results from today's match.
Doubles
- Lane Young and Sage Speer defeated Luke Suggs and Tyler Bailey 6-1
- Jaylen Lewis and Paul Gaines defeated Prosser Crow and Clayton Philley 6-3
- Trevor Davis and Jasper Poag defeated Brennan Parks and Griffin Osborn 6-4
Singles
- Lane Young defeated Paul Gaines 6-4 and 6-0
- Sage Speer defeated Luke Suggs 6-1 in each set
- Jaylen Lewis defeated Clayton Philley in three sets, with Philley winning the first 6-1 before losing the next two 7-6(tiebreaker score of 6) and 10-4
- Prosser Crow defeated Tyler Bailey 6-0 and 6-2
- Trevor Davis defeated Griffin Osborn in three sets, winning the first 6-4 before Osborn took the second 6-4. Davis went on to win the third 10-8
- Jasper Poag defeated Brennan Parks 6-3 in each set
The Hawks have been seeded as the 6th overall seed in the upcoming CCS tournament. They will face the #3 seed, Piedmont University, on April 24th in the first match of the tournament at the Chattanooga Champions Club. The winner will advance to take on #2-seeded Covenant on April 25th.
