Hawks Can't Find Their Rhythm Against Maryville
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Closing out their conference-opening weekend at home, Huntingdon Men's Tennis struggled to find their footing against the Scots of Maryville College, falling 7-0 to their conference rival. See below for the comprehensive doubles and singles results.
Doubles
- Tyler Garcia and Clayton Philley were defeated by Steven Fitzsimmons and James Smith 6-2
- William Massey and Lincoln Young defeated Jackson Meyer and Benjamin Schneider 7-6(7-4)
- Zach Cox and Sage Speer were defeated by Grant Price and Field Myatt 6-3
Singles
- William Massey was defeated by James Smith 6-0 and 6-4
- Tyler Garcia was defeated by Grant Price 6-0 and 6-1
- Lincoln Young was defeated by Field Myatt 6-1 and 6-2
- Zach Cox was defeated by Luka Romano in three sets, winning the first 7-6(tiebreaker 7-2) before dropping the next two 6-3 and 10-6
- Sage Speer was defeated by Steven Fitzsimmons in three sets, dropping the first 6-3, winning the second 6-4, but falling in the third 10-7
- Clayton Philley was defeated by Eric Vornhagen 6-0 and 6-1
