Gilroy's Second Place Finish Headlines Huntingdon Track And Field's Indoor Season Finale
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Concluding their 2026 Indoor Track season at the Birmingham Crossplex today, Huntingdon Track and Field pieced together an excellent showing at the Bulldog Open hosted by Samford University.
Junior Rory Gilroy led the charge for the men's team, securing a 2nd place finish in the 60m hurdle finals with a time of 8.41 seconds, surpassing the personal record he set in today's prelims(8.55 seconds). He followed up with a 19th place outing in the 400m dash. The duo of Javerious Askew and Marcus Malone joined Gilroy with top-10 performances of their own, 6th and 9th in the triple jump, respectively.
The Lady Hawks were led by Michaela Moore's third place finish in the 5000m with a time of 21:19.32. Her 1 mile showing impressed as well, as she crossed the line 23rd with a time of 6:26. Amberly Bennett, Trinity Treadway, and Toni Taylor rounded out the Hawks performances, taking 22nd, 24th, and 30th respectively in the weight throw in their final showing at the Crossplex.
Huntingdon Track and Field is set to kick off their outdoor track season at Mississippi College's Spring Cleaning on March 7th.
