Askew And Gilroy Become First Hawks To Garner USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La.- After each earning multiple podium finishes at the Collegiate Conference of the South Championships while experiencing incredible success throughout the 2026 Outdoor Track season, Huntingdon's Javerious Askew and Rory Gilroy have become the first Hawks to garner USTFCCCA All-Region recognition.

The top-8 individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Athletic.net Descending Order Lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-8 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, Northeast, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.

Askew, a sophomore from Dadeville, Alabama, has received all-region recognition in the Triple Jump. Boasting a personal and school record mark this season of 14.24 meters, Askew ranks 7th in the South region. At the Collegiate Conference of the South Championships this past April, Javerious brought home a 2nd place finish in the event, finishing just behind Belhaven's Neal Terry, who ranks 1st in the region.

As for Gilroy, the junior from Pace, Florida was named all-region in both the 110m and 400m hurdles. Securing gold medals in each event at the CCS Championships, Gilroy is a two-time conference champion in each, holding school and personal record times of 14.60 and 53.80 seconds respectively, ranking him 5th in the region in the 110's and 6th in the 400's.

"I am extremely proud of Javerious and Rory for all of their hard work throughout the year," shared Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach Alex Cole. "They both earned these awards- every time and every inch. These are the first two all-region selections in our program's young history, and they're each so deserving of this recognition."
