Roberts And Holman Named To NFCA Division III Pitcher And Player Of The Year Watchlist

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-  One-hundred-nineteen student-athletes from across the country were named to the 2025 NFCA Division III Pitcher and Player of the Year watchlist on Thursday afternoon.

Among those named were Huntingdon's starting pitcher, Allie Roberts, and shortstop, Jordan Holman.

Headlining the list are 21 returning NFCA All-Americans, nine from the first team, eight from the second team, and four from the third. In all, 85 different schools are represented on the list.

Voted on by the NFCA's Division III All-American Committee, the 2025 NFCA Player and Pitcher of the Year winners will be announced on June 6 following the conclusion of the NCAA Division III Finals. All student-athletes are eligible for the end-of-the-season awards and do not have to be on this list to be considered.

The NFCA Player of the Year award was created in 2016 to honor outstanding softball achievement in NCAA Division III. In 2019, the Association expanded the award to include separate Player and Pitcher of the Year honors.

The awards are voted on by the members of the NFCA Division III All-America Committee with one head coach representing each of the 10 NCAA regions. To be eligible, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member.

Following up on her freshman campaign last season that saw her recognized as the Collegiate Conference of the South's Rookie Pitcher of the Year, Allie Roberts has turned in another impressive showing thus far as a sophomore. Making 19 appearances thus far on the year, Roberts has collected 12 wins to just 1 loss, placing her in a tie for 5th place in Division III. Her 81 strikeouts this season also place her among the elite in the nation, as she currently ranks 13th in the NCAA. 

As for the former CCS Player Of The Year, Jordan Holman, she currently boasts a .373 average at the plate, including 12 doubles, 1 triple, 7 home runs, and 33 RBI's. The senior standout ranks inside the top 5 in the NCAA in doubles, inside the top 20 in home runs, and ninth in RBI's. Her numbers thus far also rank her inside the top three of nearly every major hitting category in the Collegiate Conference of the South, all while holding a .919 fielding percentge.

Roberts, Holman, and the #9 ranked Hawks return to action at home on Saturday, April 5th, as they host Covenant College in a conference double-header. Games are set for 12:00 and 2:00 PM CT.
