Fruge Named CCS Pitcher Of The Week
ATLANTA, Ga.- The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its softball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.
For the first time this season, Huntingdon's Madisyn Fruge has been recognized as the Conference's Pitcher of the Week.
Fruge made program history this week by throwing a perfect game in Huntingdon's 8-0 run-rule win over Covenant. She became the first Hawk to accomplish the feat since April 2013. Fruge retired all 18 batters she faced in the six-inning contest, striking out three and not allowing a single baserunner in a masterful performance in the circle.
Fruge and the #9 ranked Hawks return to action tomorrow, April 8th, as they travel to face LaGrange in a CCS double-header. Games are set for 2:00 and 4:00 PM CT.
