Ford Chosen As CCS Women's Basketball Player Of The Week
ATLANTA, Ga.- After guiding the Hawks to a 2-0 record on the week and a 1-0 start in conference play, Makayla Ford has been dubbed the Collegiate Conference of the South's Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
From Huntsville, Alabama, Ford delivered a dominant two-game performance, showcasing her scoring punch and defensive intensity. The senior guard erupted for 34 points, including eight three-pointers, in a 28-point road victory at MUW, continuing her role as the centerpiece of the Hawks' offense. Ford followed that effort by setting the tone on both ends of the floor in Huntingdon's 78–43 conference-opening win over Agnes Scott. She finished with a game-high 14 points while adding a league-high eight steals—four in the opening quarter—along with five rebounds and two assists. For the week, Ford totaled 48 points, nine rebounds, four assists, eight steals, and one block.
Ford and the Hawks return to action following Christmas Break on January 2nd at home, hosting Maryville College. Tip-off is set for 4:00 PM CT.
