Women's Basketball Earns 6 Seed, Travels To Asbury For CCS Tournament First Round
ATLANTA, Ga.- The pursuit of a conference crown begins Tuesday, February 24, as the 2025–26 CCS Women's Basketball Championship Tournament gets underway with six teams chasing postseason glory. With momentum, resilience, and rivalries all in play, the road to the title promises intensity from the very first tip.
Tournament play begins on Tuesday, February 24, with two opening-round matchups:
- No. 3 Asbury (13-12, 11-5) hosts No. 6 seed Huntingdon (12-13, 9-7) in a battle between two teams that know each other well.
- The night continues with an evenly matched showdown as No. 4 seed Piedmont (13-12, 10-6*) welcomes No. 5 seed Maryville (14-10, 10-6) in the second match of the day.
- *Piedmont breaks the tie with a 1-1 record against LaGrange.
The top two seeds receive a first-round bye and will open play in the semifinal round on Friday, February 27:
- No. 1 seed LaGrange (18-7, 14-2) will face the winner of the Asbury-Huntingdon matchup.
- No. 2 seed Belhaven (18-6, 11-5*) will take on the winner of the Piedmont-Maryville contest.
- Belhaven breaks the tie, achieving a 1-1 record versus LaGrange.
The winners of each semifinal will advance to the championship match on Saturday, February 28, where the 2025-26 CCS Women's Basketball Champion will be crowned
