CLARKESVILLE, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 332 in the first round of the Piedmont Spring Invitational on Monday and is in third entering Tuesday's final round.
Methodist University shot 317 in the first round and leads the seven-team tournament. Washington and Lee is second at 326.
Debra Ann Burdeshaw led Huntingdon with an 81. The freshman is five strokes out of first and tied for seventh. Senior Vanessa Leiterman is one stroke behind Burdeshaw and tied for 10th with an 82 and senior Katelyn Gilmore is tied for 12th with an 83. Sophomore Anna Beth Harris shot an 86 and junior Madi DeWees shot 92.
Methodist's Jillian Drinkard and Peyton Durham each shot 4-over-par 76 and are tied for first entering the final round.
Coming Up: Huntingdon will play in the final round of the Piedmont Invitational on Tuesday.
