Gorden and Wiggins Sweep Weekly USA South Women's Golf Awards
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Following their performances at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational hosted by Berry College at the Greystone GC, Yvette Gorden and Berkley Wiggins have swept the USA South Athletic Conference's Weekly Women's Golf Awards.
Gorden, a Pike Road, Alabama, native placed tied for first out of 86 golfers at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational this week by shooting a one-over par 147. In the two-round event, Gorden opened with an even-par 73 and finished with a one-over par 74. Also Nominated: Kirstyn Page, Pfeiffer; Sydney Richards, Southern Virginia.
As for Wiggins, the Columbus, Georgia freshman placed tied for 33rd out of 86 golfers at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational last week by shooting a 21-over par 167. In the two-round event, Wiggins opened with a 13-over par 86 and finished with an eight-over par 81. Also Nominated: Jaycie Kate Lowery, Methodist; Madi Frisby, Southern Virginia.
Yvette and Berkley will look to continue leading the Hawks as they prepare for the upcoming Spring season.
