Hawks Fall In Senior Day Matchup Against USA South Front-Runner, Meredith
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Coming off a 16-14 loss at the hands of Greensboro last week, Huntingdon Women's Lacrosse welcomed the Avenging Angels of Meredith College to Samford Stadium for a home showdown with the current USA South front-runners on Senior Day. Ultimately, the Hawks were overwhelmed by the Avenging Angels, falling 23-0.
Prior to the start of the game, Huntingdon recognized the program's two seniors, Colby Jones and Mackenzie Fulcher, for their dedication to the program, both on and off the field.
Meredith quickly grabbed control of the game, getting out to a 13-0 lead by the end of the first quarter before extending their lead to 18-0. Huntingdon's Reagan Barrett got a good look at the goal in the third quarter for the Hawks lone shot of the game, but couldn't capitalize. Five second half Avenging Angels goals put the Hawks away with a 23-0 final score.
With this loss, the Hawks have fallen to an overall record of 3-7 with a 3-4 USA South record, placing them seventh in the league. On the other end, Meredith has all but locked up the top spot in the conference, holding a perfect 7-0 conference record with two conference games remaining.
