Damion Jones Named Alabama Power Huntingdon Student Athlete Of The Week
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Following his 4-1 performance at the Millikin Open that concluded with a second place finish, Damion Jones has been recognized as the Alabama Power Huntingdon Student Athlete of the Week.
A native of Pavo, Georgia, Jones defeated the currently #4 ranked wrestler in NAIA and the reigning DIII CCIW Conference Champion en route to finishing as the runner-up in the 157 weight class. His full results from the open are as follows:
- Champ. Round 1 - Damion Jones (Huntingdon College) won by fall over Nasser Hammouche (Elmhurst University) (Fall 0:55)
- Champ. Round 2 - Damion Jones (Huntingdon College) won by fall over Timothy Sebastian (Wabash) (Fall 7:00)
- Quarterfinal - Damion Jones (Huntingdon College) won by decision over Chase Mirelez (Millikin University) (Dec 10-8)
- Semifinal - Damion Jones (Huntingdon College) won by decision over Antwaun Burns (Campbellsville) (Dec 4-2)
- 1st Place Match - Rhenzo Augusto (Elmhurst University) won by tech fall over Damion Jones (Huntingdon College) (TF 19-4)
