MONTGOMERY,Ala.- In their third game of the season, Huntingdon women's soccer(2-1 overall), was taken down by the Avenging Angels of Meredith College(2-1 overall) 3-1.
The goalkeepers from each squad put on a display in the first half, with Caroline Masker of the Hawks saving all four of Meredith's shot attempts on goal and the Avenging Angel's keeper recording 3 saves of her own. The two teams entered halftime deadlocked at 0.
In the second half, Meredith put the first points of the match on the board at the 55:24 mark, kickstarting their offense to score two more goals within the next 10 minutes. Huntingdon tried to battle back, with Keabetsoe Walker scoring her first goal of the season at the 73:36 mark, but the Avenging Angels' scoring burst proved to be too much to overcome, giving Huntingdon their first loss of the season.
The Hawks return to action tomorrow, September 8th, at home in a showdown with North Carolina Wesleyan. Gametime is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
