JACKSON, Miss.- In their second consecutive CCS matchup, Huntingdon women's soccer(2-5-1 overall, 0-2 CCS) fell to the Blazers of Belhaven University(6-3 overall, 1-1 CCS) 6-0 on the road.
How it happened
Belhaven shot out of the gates, scoring their first goal of the matchup just seven minutes into the game. Throughout the remainder of the half, goalkeeper Libby Williams locked down the goal, saving 8 shot attempts from the Blazers. On the other end of the field, the Hawks couldn't find any momentum towards the goal, leaving the score at 1-0 going into the half.
As the second half wore on, Huntingdon's offense struggled to find their rhythm, with the Hawks only shot attempt(from Shaylinn McFarland) being saved. As a result, Belhaven was able to extend their lead, taking the 6-0 victory.
The women's soccer team looks to bounce back on October 4th, traveling to face the Piedmont Lions in Demorrest, Georgia. Gametime is scheduled for 5:00 PM CT.
