The Hawks Stun Agnes Scott

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- To win their first conference matchup of the season, Huntingdon womens soccer(3-6-1 overall, 1-3 CCS) put on an offensive display, scoring five unanswered goals to take down the Scotties of Agnes Scott(1-8 overall, 0-3 CCS).

How it happened

Coming out of the gates, the Hawks' aggressive attack led to the team recording 6 shots inside the first 15 minutes before Shaylinn McFarland got Huntingdon on the board at the 17:32 mark.  Just 10 minutes later, McFarland found space near the goal, but this time found Keabetsoe Walker for Huntingdon's second goal. To enter the second half with a 3-0 lead, Angelina Mazza found Laney Bishop in the middle of the field at the 33:32 mark. Throughout the first half, Huntingdon's defense swarmed the Scotties, only allowing one shot attempt.

As the second half got underway, Huntingdon's defense continued to dominate their half of the field, with the Scotties' only getting off two shot attempts, none of which were on goal. The Hawks offense took some time to refind their rhythm from the first half, but goals from Shaylinn McFarland and Laynie Recor inside the final 10 minutes put a stamp on Huntingdon's emphatic 5-0 conference victory.
