Shaylinn McFarland: Rookie Of The Year

ATLANTA, Ga.- Unveiled with the Collegiate Conference of the South's all-conference release, Huntingdon freshman forward Shaylinn McFarland has been recognized as the conference's Rookie of the Year along with being named to the first-team all-conference.

McFarland is the first Huntingdon player to earn Rookie of the Year honors after leading the CCS in nearly every offensive category in her first year with the Hawks. The Madison, Alabama native scored 14 goals, with 34 points on the season, averaging 5.44 shots, 3.19 shots on goal, and 2.13 points per game. McFarland's immediate impact as a freshman, combined with her record-breaking performance in goals and points for the program has made her an essential asset to the Hawk's offense.

"I am thrilled to see Shaylinn acknowledged by the conference for her accomplishments this season," shared interim head coach Katie Williams. "She was a high-impact player all season, and I am proud of all of her hard work and her commitment to our team".

Although the Hawks season might have ended, Shaylinn is just getting started. Stay tuned for news of Huntingdon women's soccer and their 2025 season.
