MARYVILLE, Tenn.- Returning to CCS action on the road, Huntingdon Women's Soccer(1-8-1 overall, 0-3 CCS), traveled to Maryville College, facing off with the defending CCS champions in their final competition for the month of September.
The Scots caught fire early and kept rolling, and the Hawks couldn't answer, falling 9-1.
How it happened
Maryville found success early offensively, scoring four unanswered goals in the first half. Huntingdon fired off six shots of their own to try and match, but couldn't hit the mark. The Scots offensive attack carried over into the second half, where they scored 3 goals in the first 15 minutes to extend their lead to 7-0. Angelina Mazza cashed in on a penalty kick with a little less than 20 minutes to go, but Maryville continued to overwhelm the Hawks, claiming the 9-1 CCS victory.
