MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team defeated Berea College 9-0 and Albany State 9-0 on Saturday.
With the two wins, Huntingdon has won six straight matches, including four straight 9-0 victories. Saturday's wins pushed the Lady Hawks' season record to 11-1, marking the 14th straight season the program has won at least 10 matches.
In the conference match against Berea, Huntingdon only lost four games in singles and doubles. The Lady Hawks won 6-0, 6-0 in five of their six singles matches and 8-0 in two of the three doubles matches.
Against Albany State, Waddell and Robinson won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles and the No. 2 team of Tabor and Stephens and the No. 3 team of McBroom and Waring each won 8-0.
In singles, Waddell (No. 1) and Robinson (No. 2) each won 6-0, 6-1, Tabor (No. 3) won 6-2, 6-0 and McBroom (No. 4) won 6-1, 6-3. Waring (No. 5) won by retirement and Burch (No. 6) won 8-4.
