Hawks Turn In Solid Outing At The Doc Anderson Multi & Invitational

TROY, Ala.- Returning to action for the first time since Spring Break, Huntingdon Track and Field turned in a solid performance just down the road at the Doc Anderson Multi & Invitational hosted by Troy University. 

The Men were led by Rory Gilroy, who delivered an outstanding weekend with a second-place finish in the 110m hurdles (15.00) and a third-place showing in the 400m hurdles (55.02). He also helped power the men's 4x100 relay team to a third-place finish (43.62), alongside Gavin McAbee, Marcus Malone Jr., and Javerious Askew.

In the 400m hurdles, Johnny Quarles added a fifth-place finish (59.78), while freshman Jackson Rinehart posted a personal-best time of 1:03.83. William Mann led the way in the open 400m with a ninth-place finish (50.88).

On the sprint side, Javerious Askew paced Huntingdon in the 100m (11.05), while also making a major impact in the field events. Askew placed fourth in the long jump (6.62m), sixth in the triple jump (13.90m), and cleared a season-best 1.80m in the high jump in a strong all-around showing.

Marcus Malone Jr. contributed in both sprints and jumps, including a top-10 finish in the long jump (6.24m), while Gavin McAbee added points in both the 200m and 400m.

In the distance events, William Mann (800m) and Hayes Brockett (800m, 1500m) led a young group gaining valuable experience.

In the throws, senior Ethan Chuck recorded personal-best marks in both the discus (24.22m) and shot put (10.50m), leading the Hawks' efforts.

The men's 4x400 relay team also posted a solid fifth-place finish (3:34.63), with Gilroy, McAbee, Quarles, and Mann.

The women's squad saw strong performances from its underclassmen, led by freshman Arianna Morning, who recorded personal-best times in both the 100m (13.36) and 200m (28.39). Adrianna Morning added depth in the sprints, competing in both the 200m and 400m.

In the distance events, Michaela Moore turned in a standout performance with a seventh-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase (13:30.09) and also competed in the 5000m. Sydney Thompson recorded a personal-best in the 1500m (6:29.25), while Evie Garrett posted a season-best time in the 800m.

The throws group was led by freshman Amberly Bennett, who recorded personal-best marks in both the javelin (19.90m) and shot put (9.56m). Trinity Treadway added consistent performances across the discus, hammer, and javelin, while Toni Taylor contributed in multiple throwing events as well.

The women's 4x400 relay team of Arianna Morning, Adrianna Morning, Evie Garrett, and Sydney Thompson closed out the meet with a season-best time of 4:59.11.

The Hawks close out the regular season on April 10th and 11th at the Berry College Field Day Invitational.
