MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Leading off their home tournament in Wilson Gym, Hawks Volleyball(4-2 overall) defeated both the LaGrange College Panthers and the Piedmont University Lions in a pair of CCS matchups not designated as "conference play".

The Hawks set the tone early today, taking down the Panthers in three sets before claiming a 4 set victory over the Lions.

Match One v. LaGrange

In their opening set of the tournament, Huntingdon snuck away with a 25-21 victory, largely in part due to an effective .333 hitting percentage on 27 attempts. On the other side of the court, the Hawks controlled the net, limiting LaGrange to just 6 kills and a .053 hitting percentage.

Huntingdon's set one win made way for another contested victory in set two, this time walking away ahead 25-23. LaGrange saw an uptick in their offensive production when compared to the opening set, picking up 12 kills to go with 4 errors. Nonetheless, Huntingdon increased their efficiency as well, committing just three errors to go with 11 kills en route to a 2-0 lead.

To close things out and complete the sweep, the Hawks secured yet another 25-23 set victory. A similar tale to the previous set, the Hawks tallied more kills in the set, dominating the net on their way to a 3-0 victory over the Panthers.
